A First look seems to be a trend that is not going away, and I am so happy because there are soooo many benefits!!! Benefits such as: a private time with your soon-to-be spouse before the craziness of the day (it is sweet and relieves nerves), you get to spend more of your day with the one you love the most, more time with your guests (because you don’t have to make them wait after the wedding to see you), it helps with the flow of the day so much, and you get MORE photos….like a lot more!  I will do a whole blog about that later.

Brides are normally on board for a first look but grooms are sometimes hesitant. Normally the reason they hesitate is they are either pretty traditional or have never heard of it. If it is his dream to see his bride for the first time coming down the aisle, then I think that is what you should do. Your wedding day should reflect what is important to you, but if you are willing to do something just as special but a little different, read what Matt and David have to say about it! Even though I am a more traditional type of guy, I really enjoyed doing the first look. It helped make me feel less nervous during the wedding and let me see my beautiful bride even earlier! An added bonus was that we could take photos prior to the wedding, giving us more time after the ceremony to enjoy the event to the fullest.

I won’t lie, as a guy, when I was asked if I wanted to do “First Look” at my wedding, I was pretty indifferent to the idea. I would imagine most guys would feel the same way. Looking back now, I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Being able to share that first moment with your soon to be significant other and being able to let out any emotions you both will have in the privacy of just the two of you is quite amazing. While I have many fond memories of my wedding day, taking the time out to do “First Look” was by far one of the best decisions we came to and I have recommended it to any and all of my friends that I have talked to about the experience.
