Today on the blog I am posting something a little bit different. I normally only shoot couples and weddings, but I had to make an exception for a very special little person!

My friends brought Ezra home from the hospital almost three years ago. He was a chunky little baby with big brown eyes. The entire family immediately fell in love. Ezra has never known a moment in his life when he did not have a place of warmth and love. Bryan and Jessica have been trying to adopt him since the beginning and yesterday was finally the day Ezra became their son legally.

In the courtroom both Bryan and Jessica were asked why they wanted to adopt Ezra. They both gave testimony of how they believe God had called them to adopt and how He has providentially brought Ezra into their lives to love. It was incredibly emotional to be a witness to the adoption hearing and this huge moment in the life of this little boy.

I love how in the Bible it says that God loves the orphan and chose to adopt us and love us even before we were born (Eph 1:5, Roman 8:15, Psalm 82:3). Yesterday was so emotional for me not only because I know how long my friends have loved and fought for their son, but also because it was such an incredible reminder of God’s goodness as he saved us and made us his child! Little Ezra was playing with his toys, spinning in his chair, and talking to himself…unaware of the gravity of the moment. One day he will understand, and I am so glad I was able to take pictures that his parents will be able to show him as they tell him about the day he became their son. 

There were so many people there to celebrate with Ezra. Look how happy he is! Enjoy!
