OH HI!!! WELCOME TO THE STP BLOG! I'M SARA AND I AM WEDDING AND PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER BASED IN UPSTATE SC. GRAB A SWEET TEA AND ENJOY YOUR VISIT !
Featured on the blog today is Brent and Colleen. These two were married at Ivy Hall in Atlanta on May 19th, 2018. If you recall, this is also the day of Prince Harry’s wedding to Megan Markle. I think it is really fun to share a royal anniversary! Brent is a friend of mine from my Clemson days and he is actually the one who introduced me to my husband! Brent is such a kind and fun person and I was so glad when he found the love of his life in Colleen. I did not meet Colleen until their engagement session, which you can view HERE, but she is absolutely lovely, smart, and beautiful. I greatly enjoyed getting to know her this year!
The entire day was absolutely perfect. Although busy professionals, they did such a wonderful job planning their big day. The day was so full of joy and there were so many friends and family there. On the wedding day, Colleen looked absolutely royal in her dress! Her mother broke out into tears when she saw her daughter. It was a beautiful moment. Brent and Colleen decided to do a first look in order to finish up their photos before the ceremony and to have more photos. They were precious when they saw each other. Brent’s eye got so big! There was just so much happiness and sweetness between them. I honestly cannot imagine a better match!
Brent’s great friend Brock performed the ceremony. Don’t you just love when the minister knows the couple really well? It is so much more of an intimate service. The string quartet played beautifully and the soloist’s voice gave me chills. The entire service was clearly meant to honor God and to show they meant to put Him first in their marriage. After the ceremony the reception started and I have to tell you, Ivy Hall does an amazing job! The food and presentation was incredible!
During their first dance, Brent guided Colleen beautifully all over the dance floor. They are both gifted dancers and Brent took this opportunity to show off his new wife. There were oohs and ahhs from all over the room! Before their first dance, Colleen’s father told everyone about his relationship with his daughter and how they had such a great relationship her whole life. He talked about how proud he was of he was and then he asked her to dance. Father-daughter dances get me in the feels, but especially after this speech! The party continued and I learned the “lobster dance.” The night ended with all the guest surrounding the couple singing to the couple. At the end, Paul Hoke of Heirloom Entertainment had everyone leave the dance floor to prepare for the exit and played one last song for Brent and Colleen. They slow danced and just took in the last moments of their big day. The moment was very special and I was reminded of why I love my job so much!
I hope you enjoy scrolling through their wedding day! I must also give a shout out to Amanda Aiken who second shot this wedding with me and was a huge blessing!
