A moody studio portrait is such a unique editorial look that normally you see celebrities have. However, I’m made a mission of mine to provide magazine worthy images that are attainable for anyone!

So what are moody studio portraits? There are images that are made with flashes and have more shadows in them than light. This kind of imagery draws your eye to areas in the image that have light. In the images below the light is on the subjects face, but it doesn’t always have to be the face that is lit.

The experience is really fun and begins with professional hair and makeup. Then I photograph you 3-5 outfits (we normally discuss the purpose, vibes, and colors for your shoot weeks before your shoot). Then about two weeks after your session, you’ll come back and see your edited images and choose the ones your would like to purchase. It is my job to create the most beautiful image of yourself you’ve ever seen.

When you’re doing moody portraits, for outfit suggestions I tell people to choose something casual, something really elegant, and then something bold. Bold could mean all kinds of things to different people. In the images below the subject decided to wear a blazer with nothing underneath for her bold.
