OH HI!!! WELCOME TO THE STP BLOG! I'M SARA AND I AM WEDDING AND PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER BASED IN UPSTATE SC. GRAB A SWEET TEA AND ENJOY YOUR VISIT !
Today I am sharing one of my favorite weddings of all time! This wedding was unique and special for many reasons. 1. This was a destination wedding! 2. It was on a yacht at sunset! 3. The bride is one of my childhood best friends! 4. This couple is certainly meant to be!
Chris + Callie were married on June 9th, 2018 in Tampa, FL aboard the Starship II. They got ready with their bridal party at the Westin Hotel and had their first look on the edge of the bay. Callie’s choices for her wedding were incredible and although they had an amazing destination wedding, Callie made some really savvy choices for her budget. My favorite is her wedding dress, which she purchased from JJ’s House online. She took a chance ordering a dress online with enough time that she could fine a dress the traditional route if it did not work out, but it came in and needed no alterations!!! Callie is beautiful and smart!
I loved seeing Chris’s face when he turned to see Callie for the first time! If anyone knows Chris, knows he is not the biggest fan of having his photos taken; however, he cannot help but smile when he looks at Callie. The whole day when Chris would make eye contact with Callie his face would relax and he would grin. It warms my heart to see that my friend is so deeply loved.
We shot all their formal photos before boarding the ship. Have you ever gone to a wedding and a guest sneaks in right before the bride walks down the aisle? Well, when you get married on a boat everyone has to be on time or they are left behind. All of their friends made it early and so the boat was able to take off ahead of schedule (longer party!) The ship’s captain and staff were incredibly professional and hospitable.
All the guests were able to get a drink and then they made their way up to the top deck for the ceremony. It was such a fun and relaxed environment to watch these two promise forever to each other. Their ceremony officiant was Mike, Callie’s brother-in-law. He did a wonderful job and it was so special to have someone who knew them so well lead the ceremony! The ceremony was short and sweet. Then the party started! There was an incredible buffet, toasts, cake, an open bar, and SO much dancing! Another plus I had not considered as a huge plus about getting married on a boat, no one can leave until the boat docks. Although at 10pm when the boat docked, no one wanted to leave!
I absolutely loved having the opportunity to document this wonderful wedding! I hope you enjoy scrolling through this couple’s wedding day. If you want to see more of this really cute super in love couple, click HERE and check out their engagement photos!
