The Barn at Forevermore Farm Wedding | Joe + Kylie
Hello! Happy Wedding Wednesday! Today I have a really special wedding on the blog featuring Joe and Kylie. This precious couple met while they were working at Camp Spearhead, which is a summer camp that serves the special needs community. They are both people who love to take care of people and are so sweet. On the phone when Kylie and I were discussing me shooting her wedding she told me that wanted it to be a day of Thanksgiving and celebration, and that is was. It was a beautiful and emotional day.
Kylie did a first look with her bridesmaids, which was adorable. Be sure to check out her flower girl’s face. Joe and his groomsmen were so fun. I especially liked their lobster socks!
Joe + Kylie decided they wanted to do a first look and complete most of their formal photos before the ceremony. This is a great option especially when you don’t want your guests to have to wait long before you arrive for your reception. They chose to read beautiful letters to each other back to back before they turned to see each other. Kylie was crying and Joe was just smiling ear to ear. Joes face when he turned around and saw her was epic! She got the reaction she wanted, which made her cry even more! It was so very sweet and I’m so glad we got it all on camera. Afterwards we did couple portraits and bridal party photos.
Piedmont Baptist Church in Chesnee, SC was the church that Kylie grew up in and where her parent’s went to church. The whole church was packed with friends and family to see these two promise forever to one another. Allan, a friend from Camp Spearhead who had known them for years officiated their wedding. The ceremony was so personal and everyone laughed as Joes dad jokes were mentioned a number of times. They took a moment after braiding three strands as a symbol of their Christian marriage, to look at the crowd and to thank everyone who came to celebrate with them. It was a really sweet moment and gave them time to just take in the day. Many times the ceremony especially can feel very fast, building in moments to pause is a great idea.
After the ceremony we did family photos and visited Kylie’s mother’s grave. There on the grave was her bouquet from her bridal session and a balloon that said mother of the bride. I will share later all the ways that Kylie chose to honor her parent’s absence. It was incredibly thoughtful and meaningful.
Everyone arrived at the Barn at Forevermore Farms right before sunset. The barn is so nice with the hanging lights and multiple floors. I personally love the glow in the barn. The reception was so fun with a cake bar, buffet, full bar, dancing, and lots of laughing. It was a fabulous party!
Congratulations Joe + Kylie! I was honored to photograph your wedding and now to be friends!
