OH HI!!! WELCOME TO THE STP BLOG! I'M SARA AND I AM WEDDING AND PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER BASED IN UPSTATE SC. GRAB A SWEET TEA AND ENJOY YOUR VISIT !
Eddy + Stacy were married on July 17, 2018 at The Reserve on Lake Keowee. These two live in Tulsa OK, and met while playing ultimate Frisbee. These two love Jesus, the outdoors, good food, and their families. I absolutely enjoyed getting to know them during their engagement session… these two jumped in the water during their session. They are just so much fun!
They were married in the beautiful Chapel in the village at The Reserve. Their ceremony was absolutely beautiful and honoring to God. In the middle of their ceremony their bridal party prayed over them. It was a very sweet moment to be present for. During the whole ceremony every time Eddy and Stacy locked eyes they would grin. It was absolutely adorable!
I love this incredibly beautiful chapel that is just so stunning. It has an old-world feel to it even though it’s not old. During Family Photos it started to rain, but they made the best of it. During the couple’s portrait time the rain let up and the light was just absolutely perfect. Rain clouds diffuse the light and make it soft and flattering. It’s the kind of light there’s no way we would have had it 11: 30 on a sunny day. Basically having rain on their wedding day gave them a lot a lot more options for pictures.
Eddy and Stacy left their ceremony through a cloud of bubbles and rode off to their reception on a golf cart with a Just Married sign and beer cans behind them. The reception was at the Orchard House where they had cocktails, appetizers and lunch. Stacy and Eddy decided to forgo cake and instead had these incredible cookie sundaes. The speeches were funny and heartfelt. Their first dance song was “Head over heels”. I love the way they honored loved ones who had passed away, they were missed and remembered. Skylar, I loved getting to know this couple who are incredibly unique, super thoughtful and kind. I wish they didn’t live in Tulsa because I would love to hang out with them on a regular basis!
After the reception we went and took a few photos in the woods, which they love. These two are wrapped up the day with a cookout on the lake with all their friends and family. Stacy said that the reason they had a morning wedding was so that they could have a party in the evening that was more their style, which is casual and relaxed. I thought it was an incredible idea! There are a lot of photos, so please allow a couple moments for the photos to load. My apologies, I had a lot of favorites!
PLANNING HIGHLIGHTS
1. CHOOSE A FIRST SONG THAT IS UPBEAT
Eddy + Stacy chose the song “Head Over Boots” by Jon Pardi. They did not slow the song down so it was faster and just seemed really fun. It was still romantic as they sang to each other as they shuffled around the dance floor. I couldn’t help but smile the whole time.
2. RAINY DAY OPTIONS
Although it was not forecasted to rain, it unfortunately did. They were prepared with umbrellas for everyone and they chose a reception location that had both indoor and outdoor space. All the dancing and drinks were on the deep covered porch. A rainy day plan is always smart to have.
3. GRAND EXIT RIGHT AFTER CEREMONY
If you are having a long reception that you don’t expect everyone will stay until the end OR your ceremony location is prettier than your reception venue, you can do your “grand exit” leaving your ceremony. This one was really fun and was a great transition between ceremony and reception.
4. MORNING WEDDING AND EVENING PARTY
Stacy planned a fancy morning wedding and a casual evening cookout. That way she could celebrate all day long. Brilliant!
5. GOLF CARTS FOR GETTING AROUND
The bride’s family organized golf carts for us to get around for the day. It was so much fun! As you can see here. Shout out to my amazing friend and second shooter, SARAH MARKO!
