      The couple I’m introducing today is getting married in May 2016, and I am so excited to photograph their wedding! Tyler and Megan started dating a couple of years ago and had an instant connection.  They both love horses, the rodeo, and big trucks. Tyler fits into the family perfectly.  Megan is an only child and the apple of her daddy’s eye. Even though her daddy is tough and makes me think of John Wayne, even he has a soft spot for Tyler. I can’t blame him though, if my daughter was loved so much, I think I would love the guy too.    

     When you’re dating someone and you get serious, you wonder how much the other really loves you. You wonder if your significant other would be willing to die for you if the situation arose. Not that you want that to happen, but you just wonder about the depth of your significant other’s love. You just want to know if her or she is “the one.” Most of us would like to believe that we would be willing to give our lives for the ones we love if needed, but you never really know until given the opportunity. Tyler knows the answer to that question.

     It was in early 2014, Megan and Tyler were driving back home late at night. An oncoming vehicle moving too fast drifted over the yellow line and was about to crash into the front of Tyler’s truck. It was too late to move out of the way, so in the split second before the crash Tyler looked at the girl he loved most in the world and moved his body to shield her from the crash. The truck hit them and both vehicles were destroyed. A large piece of medal bore into the driver’s seat. Tyler would have died if he had not covered Megan in the crash, however he still was badly hurt. He could not walk and suffered damage to his face and other parts of his body. Megan was bruised and sore, but not hurt thanks to the quick thinking and sacrifice of Tyler.  Tyler was in a wheelchair for a while, but he eventually healed and was able to walk again. Megan who had loved him before now loved him deeper than ever.

     I have rarely met a couple that was as close as Megan and Tyler. Most times it takes years for couples to build such trust and intimacy. These two lived through something that expedited the process. Tyler and Megan both know that the other is completely for them and loves them enough to give his or her life for the other…literally. This knowledge influences how they live and love each other everyday.  I am thrilled to share with you some of my favorite images from their engagement session.  If you like what you see, please like my Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/saratouchetphotograph
