OH HI!!! WELCOME TO THE STP BLOG! I'M SARA AND I AM WEDDING AND PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER BASED IN UPSTATE SC. GRAB A SWEET TEA AND ENJOY YOUR VISIT !
I’m excited to share a beautiful vintage library-themed wedding I shot up in King’s Mountain, NC, back in November. This fall wedding up in the mountains was one of my ALL TIME favorites! It was a dream team of planning and coordination. Seriously in love with the details! I loved so many things about this beautiful day, but first, let me tell you about this couple.
When they met, she stole some of his fries and made a reference to Lord of the Rings; right then, Connor Mills lost his heart to Meg Cook. They dated for six years until they married in a beautiful and perfect sunset ceremony! When these two are together, they laugh and have fun. You can see their fantastic chemistry from their engagement photos HERE. I imagine Connor will still be doing fun, silly things to make Meg smile when they are old and gray. I met Connor and Meg when they were at Meg’s brother’s wedding I photographed earlier in the year. David and Lisa’s wedding was so much fun and was an Amazing party! There was an immediate love for the Cook family as they have the most wonderful and fun personalities! Then when Meg called and told me she wanted me to shoot her wedding, I was so flattered! Meg became a good friend during her wedding planning process. We bonded over our mutual tastes in TV shows and movies. On the day of her wedding, I felt like an honorary bridesmaid. I love these two.
Connor and Meg were married on November 9th, 2019. The day of the wedding was absolutely beautiful, and they sun was shining. Always a good sign when you’re having an outdoor wedding. Meg has all the feelings and is so happy to get married. She and her sweet mama shed tears as she got into her wedding dress. When Meg walked to Connor for the first look, she was so excited she couldn’t contain it. Connor was super excited and didn’t know what to do with his hands. When he turned and saw Meg, Connor wrapped his arms around her and buried his face in her neck. It was really sweet and just how she had hoped he would react. We took photos around the property as this fun-loving couple enjoyed being together. Then we had bridal party photos, and it was so fun to meet the people this couple chose to be part of their big day. Such a fun bridal party! The bride is a daddy’s girl, so we had to do a first look with him. Meg was weeping before she even got close to him. It was an incredibly sweet moment to see their exchange.
The ceremony was absolutely beautiful. During the ceremony, the minister had the parents come up and pray for the couple, which is not something you generally hear. The sermon was challenging as the pastor discussed a passage by C.S. Lewis in his book Mere Christianity. It was hard to look at the purpose of marriage, and I thought about that sermon for days after the fact—the sunset over the mountains during the ceremony, which was gorgeous. I’m so excited to share these photos with you all today!
The reception was warm and cozy, with the dance floor outside with a s’mores bar and a photo booth. Inside was decorated beautifully, and the cake was a piece of décor. Judy and her team did a fantastic job with the food, flowers, and cake; the service was terrific. Jordan did a fantastic job designing and decorating for this wedding. She is so creative and pays attention to all the details. The night was spent with lots of laughter and dancing. Connor and Meg both told me it was everything they had wanted. A solid success!
I look forward to the next time I get to see this sweet couple and laugh the night away.
Enjoy!
