I met with David and Caroline at Starbucks a few months ago to talk about their wedding day. They told me how they met and David’s grand proposal in front of all their friends at the place where they first met over the game of Magic: The Gathering. I had already spoken with Caroline lots of times about David, but this was my first time meeting. I knew then that he would be one of my favorite grooms!

David + Caroline was married in downtown Greer, SC, on May 13th at the Cannon Center, which is part of City Hall.  They were married in front of the gazebo and the pond. It was beautiful! We feared the weather would be bad, but the sun came out before the wedding and lasted the rest of the day.

I love shooting friends’ weddings. I have known Caroline since she was about 11 years old.  She is a precious soul, and I am so glad she found someone who loves her so well. While getting ready, Caroline kept telling me that all she wanted to do was see David. She was in such a hurry to be with him, but I didn’t realize how much of a hurry she was in.  My favorite part of the day was during the first look, Caroline came out of the building and saw David…and instead of walking down the sidewalk to see him…she RAN through the wet grass to get to him as fast as possible!

It was a sweet moment as they both burst into tears and held each other. It was an amazingly sweet moment, and both said they were so happy that they had decided to do the first look because it they felt freer to express their feelings.

Usually, the bride chooses the colors for the wedding, but Caroline lets David pick, and of course, he chooses red. If anyone knows David, they know he is a HUGE Liverpool fan, so naturally, he chose his team’s color. The Liverpool Red, however, was not the only British influence of the day. All of David’s family on his dad’s side is British; many were at the wedding… and nothing makes an event better than when you hear the British accent the whole time!
